Andy proudly serves the citizens of Lakewood by working across the aisle and bringing all the stakeholders to the table when crafting legislation. He works hard to empower citizens to make a difference in their communities, support working men and women in their workplaces, increase access to quality healthcare, and improve the efficiency and financial soundness of state government. The following is a brief list of some of the bills that he sponsored in 2008.
- HB 1270 Removes restrictions on the use of energy efficiency measures in the home and empowers citizens to participate in the Green economy.
- SB 155 Centralizes the state's information technology system creating greater efficiency and security.
- HB 1410 Ensures greater access to cancer prevention services and improves quality of health care.
- SB 133 Provides financial incentives for teachers in the math and science area by creating the Teach Colorado Grant Initiative.
- HB 1276 Creates workplace accommodations for nursing mothers to support healthy children and productive and successful mothers as they reenter the workplace.
